SIX is looking for a motivated and talented System Engineer, who is passionate about technology and helps us to run a highly secure, scalable and automated “Managed File Transfer” Platform
This profile is responsible for the operations, engineering and integration of all business,- corporate services using our platform. We are ‘T-shaped’ engineers with international team set-up located in Spain and Switzerland. We take full responsibilities for our actions, operate and deliver great solutions !
The team is the hub when it comes to Managed File Transfer competences in SIX. As a Middleware Engineer you will set up and maintain file transfer connections for internal and external customers and ensure data travels through channels and processes efficiently. You will be responsible for delivering high quality production and test platform, supporting regular agile releases.
perate, maintain, and enhance the MFT platform that supports SIX/BME and its clients
Contribute to system architecture and design, especially network, storage (NAS), and Linux-based systems
Collaborate with business units, external partners, and DevOps teams to troubleshoot and optimize MFT process flows
Handle daily business activities such as incident management and operational support, including participation in on-call rotations, and enhancing the MFT platform that supports clients, ensuring system reliability and rapid resolution of issues
Participate in internal and external security audits (e.g., PCI DSS) and compliance activities
1–3 years of hands-on experience with Managed File Transfer concepts and protocols (e.g., SFTP, Connect:Direct) and security implementations (e.g.,PKI, SSL, and SSH)
Proficiency in Linux and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Go
Ability to interpret and work with system architecture designs
Team-oriented mindset with excellent self-management and communication skills
An open mindset, innovative ideas, willingness to continuously grow and support change
Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with cloud-native technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) and containerized deployments. Familiarity with observability tools and practices (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift)
